Bankability emerges when technical performance, permits, land rights, grid access, offtake, risk allocation, financing requirements, implementation capability and stakeholder interests are developed as one coherent proposition.

This structure allows LTI to combine international contracting, financing and technology relationships with local project rights, permitting, stakeholder engagement and implementation capability. The precise allocation of roles is adapted to each country, project and financing structure.
International lenders and Development Finance Institutions require risks to be identifiable, allocated and documented. Revenue certainty, change-in-law protection, termination compensation, currency arrangements, grid obligations, land rights, step-in rights, direct agreements and enforceable security all influence whether long-term finance is available and on what terms.
LTI therefore treats bankability as part of project design. The aim is not to transfer every risk to another party, but to allocate each risk to the party best able to understand, manage or insure it.
The project-development platforms draw directly on LTI’s engineering capabilities in Unna. System definition, technology qualification, supplier engagement, interface management, testing philosophy and lifecycle support are introduced before procurement decisions become fixed.
This protects the project against a common failure mode: a commercially attractive concept that cannot be delivered at the required performance, cost or risk level. Engineering and development remain separate disciplines, but they operate within one project logic.
